WoodmenLife members celebrate patriotism in many ways, including:

  • Presenting United States and religious flags. WoodmenLife is one of the largest distributors of U.S. flags. We have donated more than 2 million American flags and presented them to worthy non-profit and community organizations. WoodmenLife celebrates and honors the American flag throughout the year.
  • Presenting American Patriot’s Handbooks to schools, libraries and newly naturalized citizens.
  • Presenting American history awards to students.
  • Planning Flags Across America projects and observances annually on June 14. Flags Across America programs and sites are sponsored by the National Flag Foundation.

In Honor And Remembrance

Out of the ashes of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks of 2001, WoodmenLife members rise each year to organize In Honor and Remembrance ceremonies. Held on Sept. 11, these ceremonies honor the heroes and victims of those attacks, as well as local community heroes and volunteers.

Past ceremonies include:

  • Presenting an American flag to the town, a civic organization or to a family affected by the terrorist attacks
  • Dedicating a flagpole in a public park
  • Planting a garden or tree in a victim's or hero’s name
  • Commissioning a piece of public art that symbolizes the sorrow and hope associated with the day
  • Presenting American Patriot’s Handbooks to newly naturalized citizens

Contact your local chapter to participate in their In Honor and Remembrance ceremony.

Traveling Flag Request

WoodmenLife's Traveling Flags make a big statement about our patriotism. Currently, we have 50- x 100-foot and 30- x 60-foot flags available for rent. These oversized Traveling Flags can be used at parades, athletic events, school assemblies and other patriotic celebrations.

Request a flag for use at your local event.
