What Corporate Citizenship Means to Us

WoodmenLife has been part of the fabric of the Omaha community for more than 100 years, and our respect and commitment to the communities where we live and work is just as long-standing.

WoodmenLife believes that being a good corporate citizen means demonstrating this respect by donating time and money to organizations in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas that make a positive difference.

Giving Focus

WoodmenLife is proud to support organizations that help educate children, support patriotism and American citizenship, bolster better health and add to the rich cultural heritage of the metro area.

Each year, our Corporate Social Responsibility Committee selects the organizations to receive support. Although the list changes from year to year, the following areas are the focus of our organization’s efforts:

• Education

• Patriotism

• Diversity

• Health & Wellness

• Arts & Culture

Last year, the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee directed significant financial support to more than 300 qualified non-profit organizations – from Junior Achievement programs in schools and the Heartland Latino Leadership Conference to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Omaha Community Playhouse, and many others.

For more than 15 years, WoodmenLife has been a proud Adopt-a-School partner of Wakonda Elementary School. Our associates plan employee fund-raising activities and fun and engaging activities for students and teachers, including:

• Holiday Giving Tree for students and families

• Field trips to Camp Woodmen in Nebraska City

• Mascot T-shirts for students

• Volunteer readers in classrooms

• Holiday meals for families

Associate Efforts

At WoodmenLife, our associates (employees) show their personal support for our Corporate Responsibility values by giving their own time and money to benefit worthy organizations.

Giving Time – Each year, associates receive up to 8 hours of paid time off to volunteer at local organizations.

Giving Financially – WoodmenLife offers an employee gift matching program, encouraging their charitable contributions to 501c(3) non-profits by providing up to $150 in matching donation funds.
